The marine cadet corps is an independent nautical training organisation based on the history, traditions and ethos of the Royal Marines.
The MCC wouldn’t function if it wasn’t for the dedicated members of staff who volunteer their time to run the local units. To join the Marine Cadet Corps as a member of staff you don’t need any formal training or qualifications. All you need is the right attitude and some spare time.
To join as a member of staff you have to be over 18 years of age and select one of the following options.
Option One:
The first of these is to join an existing unit as a member of staff, to do this you need to contact either Troop commander of the unit you wish to join or contact the staff here at headquarters.
We will then talk you through the process and you will be invited down for an informal chat either at the unit or at Headquarters. During this time if you wish too you can fill out the application and CRB, or take them away with you to fill out at home.
Once your paperwork has been received and processed you will be invited to start attending the unit to start your training as a probationary Sergeant. Potential Instructors applying with past military experience may be given the option to resume any rank previously held.
Option Two:
If you would like to become a Troop commander and run your own MCC Troop then simply contact us using the contact page, and express your interest in setting up an MCC unit in your area. You will be required to fill out the various staff application forms and CRB’s. Whilst waiting for the paperwork to clear you will be given support and advice on setting up and running your own troop. Depending on your location and the availability of staff we will try and meet up with you and have a face to face discussion and answer any questions you may have.
Which ever option you choose we have included a staff application form on a link below so you can download the initial application and get a head start on becoming a staff member of the Marine Cadet Corps.
*Officer Entry is restricted for further information on how to apply to the MCC as an officer please use the general enquiry form on the contact page.
