Welcome to the home of the Marine Cadet Corps

The marine cadet corps is an independent nautical training organisation based on the history, traditions and ethos of the Royal Marines. This site is designed for the staff, parents, supporters and those wishing to join as well as providing information for external bodies.

If you would like to join us as a cadet then you must be between the ages of 10 and 18 years of age. If you are 17.5 or already 18 then why not look at becoming an instructor. We have units spanning across the UK with more opening all the time. If we don’t have a unit in your area then why not contact us about the possibility of having one set up.

Cadet training normally takes place on one or two evenings a week and is normally between 1900hrs (7pm) and 2130hrs (9.30pm). Depending on the unit location and availability of the staff and building these times may vary.

We also hold weekend training events which take place from Friday evening and last until Sunday.

The cost of becoming a cadet has been kept to a minimal, We charge you £1.50 per training night, per cadet, the first night is always free. We also have a one off charge of £15 as a joining fee. This covers the administration and basic uniform cost. Although we do ask cadets to provide their own boots we can assist with this is required.

Feel free to contact any member of staff here at Headquarters or contact your local unit commander who will be happy to answer any further questions or concerns you may have.
